OncoPanCure SL launches to develop a first-in-class therapy for pancreatic cancer
OncoPanCure Therapeutics is proud to announce its official incorporation as a biotechnology company dedicated to developing innovative therapies for pancreatic cancer, one of the most aggressive malignancies and one of the areas of greatest unmet medical need in oncology.
Founded as a spin-off arising from the long-standing scientific collaboration between IQS School of Engineering (Universitat Ramon Llull) and Xenopat S.L., the company has been created to advance OPC080, a novel first-in-class small molecule discovered through years of multidisciplinary research in medicinal chemistry, computational drug design, cancer biology, and translational oncology.
OPC080 has demonstrated encouraging preclinical activity against pancreatic cancer in both cellular and animal models and is protected by an international patent application. The company’s immediate objective is to complete the remaining regulatory preclinical development, including CMC and GLP toxicology studies, before progressing toward Phase I/IIa clinical evaluation.
The creation of OncoPanCure Therapeutics represents the transition of years of academic research into an independent company focused on transforming scientific discoveries into therapies with real clinical impact.
“Our mission is simple but ambitious: to bring a new therapeutic option to patients affected by pancreatic cancer by translating excellent science into innovative medicines.”
This milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for the team and the first step toward building a company committed to scientific excellence, innovation, and improving patient outcomes.
